The New Straits Time
By: JAMES HIPKISS

THERE seems to be a growing interest in the art of cooking, haute cuisine and healthy eating.
Bookshops are full of colourful recipe books, TV chefs do their thing nightly on television, local
supermarkets and delicatessens stock an ever-widening variety of specialist products, and
more Malaysians are getting serious about cooking at home.

Whats Cooking At The Cooking House?
Have your cake and eat it too

More about The Cooking House. They offer an impressive variety of classes, in a pleasant and
professional atmosphere. I love their setup and look forward to attending more classes here,
especially of the baking sort. The price of courses are also very reasonable. The salad course
was priced at RM80. Considering a 2 hour blind man massage would have cost that much, I
think that was darn good value for money. Get to eat some more.

Have Your Cake and Eat It Too

I just LOVE the sight of fresh raw ingredients. There's something so liberating and the colors
so dazzling, that just makes one happy to see God's creation like a kaledeiscope canvass. And
the smell of chopped herbs, parsley, etc, ah, a hint of heaven on earth.

Cooking the chef way
The Star
By: Boey Ping Ping

There are many ways to hone your cooking skills.

You could watch and learn from your mother, grandmother or a friend who’s a chef. You could
buy recipe books. You could follow the cooking shows – but putting theory into practice is
never easy.

Perhaps cooking classes are best.

Abridged Dim Sum
Have your cake and eat it too

Her charsiu recipe is surprisingly simple and PRETTY GOOD!!!! Of course, since it was
chicken char siu, there was no basis for comparison with the other artery clogging stuff we've
been eating at places like FSF, but even on its own, the marinade made the meat most
delicious, and call it whatever you want, it's great.

Dim Sum ~ My 1st Cooking Class
Precious Pea

I always wanted to make flaky egg tarts since ages ago but after reading my recipe book, I was
way too confused with the method of combining both the oil dough and the water dough. Right
until one fine day, I got an email from The Cooking House in Desa Sri Hartamas and imagine
how happy I was when I got to know that Egg Tart was included as part of their Dim Sum
Class.
